Installation
Experience in mechanical electrical installation isn’t just about getting the work done. It’s about knowing what commissioning requires before the first cable goes in. MEC installs switchboards, control systems, and associated electrical infrastructure for commercial and industrial projects with that end-state in mind from day one.

Commissioning
MEC’s commissioning process is structured to prove the system operates as designed and meets project and compliance requirements before sign-off is requested. Pre-commissioning checks, sequence testing, VSD alignment, BMS interface verification, and system performance testing are all carried out by the same team that designed and built the system.
Clean Handover
Incomplete documentation at handover creates problems that outlast the project.
MEC issues a complete handover package before handover is requested, including:
- FAT records
- Commissioning reports
- As-built drawings
- Control documentation
- Compliance sign-off sheets

I have used MEC on multiple occasions in the past on various types of projects and have found them to be very conscientious and thorough in their work with excellent attention to detail.
I would happily recommend them as a trustworthy and reliable services provider.

Maintenance
MEC provides maintenance that goes beyond scheduled visits. Because we build and commission many of the systems we maintain, fault finding is faster, upgrades are better informed, and there are fewer gaps in the asset history.
Planned preventive maintenance
Fault finding
Switchboard upgrades
Recommissioning for plant changes
Condition reporting for existing electrical assets
Maintenance is best suited to sites that care about reliability, documentation, and fast fault finding, not cheapest call-outs
FAQs
Do you carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) before the switchboard leaves your workshop?
Yes. FAT is standard on all switchboard and control system deliveries. Testing is carried out in-house before delivery, with results documented and issued to the project team.
What documentation does the project manager receive at handover?
FAT records, commissioning reports, as-built drawings, control documentation, and compliance sign-off sheets, issued as a complete package before handover sign-off.
How are defects or issues found during commissioning handled?
Recorded in a formal punch list and tracked to close-out by MEC directly. The same team that built and commissioned the system carries out the remedial work.
Can you manage ongoing maintenance for systems you didn’t originally install?
Yes. A condition report is usually the starting point to establish the current state of the system.
At what stage of the project should we be engaging you for commissioning planning?
As early as possible, ideally when the switchboard is being manufactured. Commissioning planning that starts on site under program pressure creates risk. We can issue a commissioning programme and resource plan as part of the project schedule.
